What countries and cultures do you find most inspirational when it comes to beauty and why?

France. French women famously have a laissez-faire attitude to beauty and an appreciation for effortless elegance. They are taught to care for their skin from a young age. The French focus is more on maintaining a clean and healthy canvas rather than covering it up.

The most popular beauty products and brands in your country right now:

Cocoa Brown Tan, Spotlight Teeth White Strips, Pestle & Mortar Recover Eye Cream.

The most popular beauty trends in your country right now:

Anti-pollution skincare products. The next wave of skin stressors on everyone's radar are pollutants or the result of pollution, so there is rapidly growing interest in pollution-reducing skincare products.

Favorite traditional beauty secret from your country:

My favorite traditional beauty secret is from India, the country of my heritage, and my choosing it stems from the fact that my mother often used it on myself and my sister in our teenage years. She would apply a turmeric paste to our faces every week. Not only does turmeric take care of scars and inflammation but also reduces oil secretion by sebaceous glands.

Where you buy beauty products:

Mostly in international airports or online.

What does "healthy living" mean to you?

To me, healthy living means leading a balanced life. Not too much of anything and everything in moderation. Healthy food is important to me, but I don't deprive myself. I enjoy the ceremony of eating with others and eating mindfully. I exercise moderately by doing Pilates or walking in fresh Irish air. Light exercise, eating healthily and regularly, fresh air, plenty of water, and a good night's sleep, along with strong emotional connections, are factors which I believe are essential for healthy living.

How do you define/practice self-care?

To me, the definition of self-care is taking responsibility for your own physical and mental health. I practice self-care in the way that I treat myself in my thoughts and in my actions. I try to be kind to myself. I give myself a break when necessary, and I am super conscious that I have a responsibility (to myself and to those who love and depend on me) to keep myself as healthy as possible.

What's your favorite way to stay active and why?

Walking outdoors. There is nothing like fresh air. Especially fresh Irish air!

What's your favorite healthy meal?

It's a traditional Northern Indian fish curry made with natural yogurt, green chili, tomatoes, turmeric, lovage seed, and other fragrant spices, served with steamed basmati rice and a side of yellow lentils. Yum!

What are the most popular wellness trends in your country right now?

Everyone has gone mad for apple cider vinegar ever since Victoria Beckham posted a picture of it on her Instagram!

Another big Irish favorite is year-round sea swimming-taking the plunge into freezing saltwater boosts circulation (although I'm a warm-water-sunny-day type of person myself!).

Hot pod yoga has recently hit Ireland and is shaping up to become very popular.
