PSA: You Can Now Try on Makeup at CVS Just Like You Do at Sephora

Some of my first beauty memories took place in CVS. It's where my mom took me to get my first lipstick in middle school. At that time, the drugstore lipstick options that worked for dark skin tone were very limited. I distinctly remember wishing I could try certain lipstick shades on to see if they'd work for my complexion before buying them. This was pre-YouTube days (I couldn't watch a tutorial or see a swatch), so all I could do was take a wild guess and hope for the best. It was a toss-up and felt unfair that I had to spend my hard-earned allowance money at luxury makeup counters in department stores to try on lipsticksВ rather than at my local drugstore where makeup felt more accessible. If you'veВ had a similar experience, you know the struggle is real

Well, my friends, CVS and on-demand beauty serviceВ Glamsquad announced a recent partnership that's going to wipe out all of these woes for good. It's called BeautyIRL, and it's the most futuristic drugstore beauty aisle to date. InВ an effort to make beauty shopping more personal, accessible, and fun for shoppers, it's meant to be a "connected beauty experience" that'll offer personal Glamsquad services. That's right. You'll be able to get a blowout, dry styling, braids, 30-minute makeup applications, manicures, and skincare services for only $30 to $45 depending on the service. This is the future.В В

What's seriously next-level is that CVS consumers will be able toВ get personal consultations with professional makeup artists and skincare experts, and shoppers can also book appointments. According to InStyle, BeautyIRL will be decked out with a #TrendingNow section to show off up-and-coming indie brands, a travel-size section, a K-beauty section, and even aВ Test-and-Play Hygiene Bar to try before you buy.В

You're probably wondering the same thing we are: Where the heck are these?В For now, BeautyIRL is available in four selected stores in Florida, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. There are talks of expanding to more locations in 2019, so hold tight.В
